The necessity of ethical management and the establishment of the code of conduct

The criteria for measuring the competitiveness of blue-chip companies are the right values of their employees as well as excellent facilities and efficient processes.

On June 13, 2003, POSCO Plantec established and declared the code of conduct to practice corporate ethics at the global level in line with the times so that we came a step closer to become an enterprise that is trusted and respected within society and one that fulfills its corporate social responsibilities.

Composition and description of the code of conduct

The code of conduct emphasizes that employees uphold the image of a trusted and respected company by practicing truly ethical management, and that all employees identify with the stipulations in the code and autonomously comply with them.

Compliance pledge

All employees sympathize with the need to become a trusted and respected company that observes the standards and principles by complying with the code of conduct, and voluntarily take the compliance pledge to comply with the code of conduct.

Activities

Righteous Management Office in charge of Ethical Management

POSCO PLANTEC is operating "Righteous Management Office" dedicated to ethical management in order to input ethical management into our company's culture in a short time.

They are in charge of publicity, education, management and ethics consultation, implementing ethics programs, evaluating the relevant institutions as a main task.

'Ethics programs' with executives together

Our company re-establish ethics management as a top priority of our business. In order to realize ethics & compliance in daily life, we have operated 'Ethics practice program' since 2010 originated from "Voluntary Implementation Program of Business Ethics".

'Ethics practice program' is operated and led by executives unlike the existing program by managers. Subjects extend to management risk in business of executives besides ethical risk. It is expected to bring real effect associated with business performance.

Ethics training activities

We perform ongoing case-based ethical training course for new hires and current employees during departmental learning period. In particular, employees residing overseas can work only after completing their education of Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA)

Operate preventing system of unethical behavior

We operate Report Center in charge of "How to report and reward of unethical conduct including immunity system" and a counseling center on sexual harassment prevention. We also develop and unearthed ethics risk periodically through "Voluntary implementation Program of Business ethics".

Gift Return Center, Flower Auction

Gift Return Center has been operated since Thanksgiving in 2003, proclaiming the ethics year. Gifts that persons interested have sent are returned with sticker containing polite refusal at our expense.

Flowers to celebrate promoted personnel are auctioned in accordance with ethical standards, which is utilized charity fund.
