3rd Relining Project
POSCO PLANTEC provides the best engineering services in the field of steel plants based on the experience and technology of project implementation of Pohang Steel Plant and Gwangyang Steel Plant.
Based on the experience and technology of rationalizing the facility close to the site, we carried out a large steel plant project for the 3rd relining project with Pohang Steel Plant No. 3 Blast Furnace.
Pohang Steel Plant No. 3 Blast Furnace has been transformed into a very large blast furnace with a daily production volume of 14,000 tons by establishing old facilities, increasing capacity, and improving functionality.

The blast furnace relining project is a project to increase capacity or renovate and repair the furnace body, furnace facilities, hot blast stove, gas purification facilities, and raw material facilities by applying the latest technology.
POSCO PLANTEC successfully completed the full-scale relining of Pohang No. 3 blast furnace, and possesses various capabilities related to blast furnace facilities, such as replacing furnace stove parts.

- Internal Volume: 4,350㎡ to 5,600㎡
- Increased production (T/D): 9,6100 to 14,000
- Relining Period 109 days
- Increased cooling capacity: Furnace body cooling plate + Cast iron stove cooling
- Increase the capacity of TOP bunker for top gas facilities
- Establishment of Cyclone Type for gas purification and improvement of EIC control and monitoring
- New construction of columnar hydraulic facilities and expansion of Ore & Sinter Bin for raw material transportation
- Increased PCI injection volume
